North Church first began as a log cabin in 1641 in Portsmouth, NH. The current church located in Market Square in the heart of the downtown area was built in 1855. A popular and eye-catching landmark, the church can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Notable worshippers over the years include Daniel Webster, John Paul Jones, and George Washington.
