About the Artist: Joe Foster is a New Hampshire-based artisan who trained with master carvers in the mountains and rainforests of Aotearoa (New Zealand). His years immersed in Māori carving traditions shaped an approach rooted in reverence for natural materials — jade, shell, pearl, fossil, and stone. He sources materials from around the world and handcrafts every piece by the lake in New Hampshire. Each one is one-of-a-kind.
