Maine Pottery Co. -- Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MPC Dashboard, Artist Portal, and related services ("Services") operated by Maine Pottery Co. ("we," "us," or "our"), located at 727 Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, ME 04556.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Services Overview

Maine Pottery Co. operates an internal business dashboard and artist portal for managing consignment and co-op artist relationships, including:

  • Sales tracking and payout calculations
  • Rent billing and payment processing
  • Product management via Shopify integration
  • Accounting integration via QuickBooks Online
  • Email communications via Brevo
  • Shift scheduling and gallery operations

These Services are provided exclusively for Maine Pottery Co. and its consignment and co-op artists.

2. User Accounts

  • Admin Access: Available only to authorized Maine Pottery Co. staff. Protected by password authentication.
  • Artist Portal Access: Available to active consignment and co-op artists via unique, token-based portal links. No separate account registration is required.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials.
  • You must not share your portal link or admin password with unauthorized individuals.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for their intended purpose and not to:

  • Attempt to access another user's data or portal
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Services
  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload malicious files or content
  • Interfere with the operation of the Services

4. Third-Party Integrations

Our Services integrate with the following third-party platforms:

  • Shopify: For product, order, and sales data synchronization
  • QuickBooks Online: For accounting, vendor management, and payout processing
  • Stripe: For ACH and credit card rent payments
  • Brevo: For transactional and marketing email delivery
  • Google Business Profile: For store hours synchronization

Your use of these integrations is also subject to their respective terms of service. We access these platforms using industry-standard OAuth authentication and API protocols. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details directly -- these are handled by the respective payment processors (Stripe, Shopify).

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • We collect only the data necessary to operate the Services
  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • Artist sales data, contact information, and tax details are stored securely
  • Financial data is processed through QuickBooks Online and Stripe using encrypted connections
  • You may request deletion of your data by contacting us

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code comprising the Services are the property of Maine Pottery Co. Artist-submitted content (photos, bios, product descriptions) remains the property of the respective artist.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not responsible for errors or delays caused by third-party integrations (Shopify, QuickBooks, Stripe, Brevo)

8. Termination

  • Artists may discontinue use of the Services at any time by providing 30 days written notice per their consignment or co-op agreement
  • We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or for any business reason with reasonable notice
  • Upon termination, we will retain your data as required for tax and legal compliance, then delete it upon request

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Artist Portal or email. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to conflict of law principles.
