About this gallery
Twenty-five years on Commercial Street.
We opened our doors in 1999 with a few shelves of mugs and a hope that Portland would have us. Twenty-five years and a few thousand mugs later, we're still here — and so are you.
Our flagship gallery is the largest of our three shops, and home to between 70 and 100 Maine and New England artists at any given time. Painters, glassblowers, jewelers, woodworkers, the occasional knitter who wandered in and never left. Almost everything you see was made by hand within driving distance of this room.
We stand with this neighborhood. We donate to the soup kitchen down the street, we sponsor the school art show, and we stay open the night the cruise ships come in even though it's chaos.
P.S.Ask about the cracked bowl on the high shelf. There's a story.

Yes — anywhere in the US. We hand-pack every box and we've gotten pretty good at it. Ask at the counter or order online.
Can I bring a stroller / wheelchair?
Yes. The front room is fully accessible from Commercial Street. The back room has one small step — we'll happily carry anything you'd like to see out front.
Is there parking?
Metered street parking on Commercial. The Custom House garage on Pearl is two blocks away and usually has space.
Do you take custom orders?
We connect you directly with the artist. We don't upcharge for it — we just love when it works out.
Dogs?
Yes, leashed and well-mannered. We keep biscuits behind the counter.
