Nancy Houlihan

Key areas of focus include mixed media collage, monotype and wood & linoleum block prints. To create her collages, Nancy takes disparate bits of paper and combines them to create shapes, texture, movement, and depth. She uses ‘found’ papers from old books and maps, as well as tissue paper, pen & ink drawings and scribbles in her work. Many of her pieces showcase the scenery of the Maine and New Hampshire Seacoast. Her monotypes focus on the fluidity of the natural world…flowers, landscapes, the sea and coastline. Her wood & linoleum blocks are typically printed in black to create crisp, dramatic images. Nancy resides in Kittery, Maine where she as a home studio for creating her collage pieces. She has a studio at the Art Center in Dover NH for print making.
