Handcrafted Stone ArtFunky Rock Designs
No two stones are exactly alike — and that’s the point.
Funky Rock Designs started in 2006 when Jeff Henderson began turning found stones into gifts for friends and family. He’d spent years living and working along the New England shoreline, and what began as a creative outlet grew into a full-time craft. Today he works out of a 3,000-square-foot shop in Eliot, Maine, with a small team and a family tradition of gathering stones. Jeff makes functional stone art — lamps, vases, drink dispensers, kitchen tools — from naturally tumbled New England beach stones and quarried granite. The process stays simple: diamond drill bits, water, and time, used to enhance each stone rather than reshape it. Some are left natural, others hand-treated with oil to bring out the color, then paired with stainless steel, wood, and glass. No two stones are alike, so no two pieces are either.
